The Sky Is The Limit

Homemade card with The Sky is the Limit stamps and Balloon Bouquet Punch from Stampin' Up! Design by Natalie Lapakko.

This card was inspired by the TGIF Challenge #54.

TGIF MAY 2016 New Challenges-004

These are my very favorite colors, and I’m not being facetious in the least. My bedrooms growing up were all papered and painted in these colors. My bridesmaids wore these colors when I got married. At least half of the clothing I own features these colors. When I saw this color challenge, I knew I needed to play along.

On the day that I made this card, I was feeling a little down because my husband will be leaving for a week on a business trip. It’s a little sappy, I know; it’s only a week, but I will miss him. Using my very favorite colors to make a card was the perfect way to both express my feelings and cheer myself up. This card features both rain clouds and a little sunlight peeking through.

This card grew very organically. Almost everything on it started with, “I wonder what it would look like if I….”

This is where I normally would put the directions for how to make this card, but my husband is telling me that it’s way past my bedtime. It’s his last night here before he leaves, so I should probably listen to him. I’ll have six other nights this week to stay up late stamping and blogging… I guess every cloud does have a silver lining.

  1. Beautiful card Natalie! I love the subtle colour in the “sky” and I adore the idea of cutting the circle and separating it a little it. Absolute genius!! Thanks for sharing with us at TGIF – Chlo
