Rose Garden Sonnet

Oh, Rose Garden Thinlit Dies! If I was Shakespeare I would write a sonnet for you. Alas, I am not that kind of artist. I must instead express my appreciation in another way, by making cards, for example.

I recently posted my first card made using the Rose Garden Thinlit Dies from Stampin’ Up! If you missed it, you can read it here: Yellow Rose Wonder +10 Cards That Inspire Me. I was so inspired, in fact, that I made several more cards using this die set. Here is my third Rose Garden card. There will be more…

I created this card by die cutting the rose image and saving the white paper that it was cut out of. The rose is lifted up by several very tiny dimensionals. Peeking out from beneath the rose is a pool party confetti paper from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin’ Up! It’s a nice soft color and pattern that don’t distract too much from the beauty of the rose image. To finish it off, I added a border, a greeting, and some accents in Melon Mambo.

After this project, I’m really looking forward to the dimensional strips that Stampin’ Up is coming out with in the new catalog. They will make future projects like this much easier!
