Today’s card is inspired by Global Design Project’s challenge #033.
This challenge (out of the insane five that I attempted) took up most of my brain power for the week. Every piece of Designer Series Paper that contained these colors was spread out on my workspace for days and I stared at them even while working on other cards. I finally dreamed up a layout I thought might work while I was at work and drew it out on a post-it note. At home, I cut out most of the pieces I would need for that sketch and put them in a pile while I cut up the rest. The random arrangement of that pile gave me a whole new idea, so I scrapped the post-it sketch and winged it!
This card truly had a life of it’s own.
Whew! That one took a lot of brain cells. I feel like I learned a lot making this card, though. It definitely stretched me. Thanks for the challenge Global Design Project!
I tried to lighten up these photos a little bit because they looked really shadowy. As a result the colors ended up a little brighter looking than they are in real life. My navy blue (which I substituted for Night of Navy) especially looks more like a royal blue. Sorry about that!
