I made this card for two challenges! The first is Pals Paper Arts Challenge #310!
Then, because I love the color scheme I did another card for Global Design Project #045!
I played around with the arrangement of the elements a lot on this card to get the balance just right. In the end, the sketch was turned upside down and had an extra circle added.
The grey polka dot paper reminds me of a moon, which makes this cute little rabbit an astronaut. The rabbit was made using the Fox Builder Punch. I turned the head shape upside down so his cheeks would be down lower. I also used the fox cheek shape, cut it in half, rounded the corners, and used it as the rabbit’s back feet. The ears also use that shape. The front feet were stamped then fussy cut out, because I think it looks more 3D to have the feet stick down a little bit.
I had to do a lot of rearranging on this card in order to make the balance right. Most of the time spent making the card, actually. I tilted the rabbit this way and that, moved the circles around several different ways… and finally the perfect balance was achieved by added a little HB (Happy Birthday) flag. Sometimes the smallest elements make a big difference! The flag was inspired by the little HB flag stamp from the Cupcake Builder stamp set by Stampin’ Up! but I made it larger so it would maatch the size of the rabbit. The HB is written in white colored pencil.
