My card today was inspired by a Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #48.
This card will be going on a journey in the mail to a friend of mine that is having a baby some time in the next three weeks. I know how tough that waiting can be in the home stretch and wanted to show my support for her!
To make this card I used Wildflower Designer Series Paper (from Sale-a-bration), the bear from the Thankful Forest Friends stamp set, a sentiment from the And Many More stamp set, and one tiny stamp from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set. All of these products are from Stampin’ Up! though all but the tiny dandelion are retired or retiring soon.
Tip: Stampin’ Write Markers are amazing! I didn’t have a Chocolate Chip ink pad for my bear, so I had to get creative; I used the Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker to add ink to my stamp. Then, since it didn’t stamp very dark, I colored a second layer of ink over the top of it. It worked great and gave the bear a dark, rich color.
I normally love lots of colorful layers and frames around everything, but this card really wanted to be clean and simple. I tried each color around the border, but none of them looked nearly as nice as plain white. I normally have to try extra hard to keep a card clean and simple, but this time it was easy!
