Today’s card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #244!
Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved rainbows. My sisters and I knew which weather conditions and times of day were ripe for rainbows, and if one of us spotted one, we’d alert each other by shouting, “Rainbow! Rainbow!” and running out into the driveway to gawk at it. As we grew up we joked that if we started a band, it would be called “Rainbow Alarm”.
I also love polka dots, though maybe not quite as much as rainbows. If I had to design a designer series paper, it would certainly be a whole stack of papers with different sized polka dots in every color.
This card was incredibly easy to make.I had several words from the Hello You die set from Stampin’ Up! already cut out (I tend to get carried away and cut more than I need) and I had a stack of white ovals already cut out. I made my own ovals in Illustrator and cut them out with the Cricut Explore Air.
All I had to do was add color! And trim the background paper.
To add the color, I sponged Crushed Curry ink onto the middle section of the oval (using circular rubbing motions and starting the sponge off the side of the paper). In the same way I added Watermelon Wonder ink to one side and Island Indigo to the other side, letting them overlap the Crushed Curry.
Add glue and some dimensionals and the card is complete!
So simple, and yet it still makes me as happy as a card that I’ve spent hours laboring over! Maybe even happier!
Happy stamping and thanks for visiting!
