This card design was inspired by Mojo Monday’s Challenge #447.
I get Blank Page Syndrome sometimes. This is similar to writer’s block, but is more inclusive of people who aren’t using words. It occurs when a person, like me, sits down to create something and gets stuck. That blank page, that squeaky clean stamping area, that nothingness staring back at me is very daunting. It makes it hard to get started sometimes.
Once I’m in the groove, I get lots of ideas… more than I can ever actually create. So when I am in the groove, I do future me a favor to help jump start my groove again. Rather than leaving my workspace 100% empty, I try to leave out something to inspire me later. Sometimes it is inkpads that correspond to a color scheme I’d like to try. Other times I leave out a card that I recently made that I am especially proud of. Still other times, I will sketch out an idea on a post-it note and stick it where I will be sure to see it again.
For this card, I knew ahead of time what colors I wanted to use, so I took out all the scraps of designer series paper I had in those colors and left them in a little pile.
Sure enough, when I came back to my stamping area the next time I went, “Ooo!” and got right into card making. Blank Page Syndrome… cured!
