This card is a submission for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #49.
Dandelions are flowers, too! My two year old son just learned about dandelions this Spring. He gave me my first little bouquet of yellow dandelions about two weeks ago. Squee! Then they started going to seed and we have been blowing on them to make wishes. (I’m sure our neighbors are very happy with us!)
Getting my first dendelion bouquet reminded me of this poem:
A rose can say I Love You,
Orchids can enthrall;
But a weed bouquet in a chubby fist,
Oh my, that says it all!
-From Raising Boys, by Roberta I. Teague
So, since I’ve had dandelions on my mind, my flower card became a dandelion card!
All the stamps used in this card came from the set Balloon Celebrations by Stampin’ Up! The dandelion started as a dotted circle, then I added two balloon strings to make the stem. There are two sizes of dandelion seed that I added in small bunches, as if most of the seeds have already blown off. Two seeds are flying away.
The sun in the background is built using the balloon string over and over in a radiating pattern; I drew a dot where I wanted my dandelion seed to go, then connected all the lines to that dot. I added Hello Honey ink using a sponge (is circular rubbing motions) gradually graduating the color so it is lighter in the center.
The dandelion fluff paper is from the Wildflower Designer Series pack from Sale-a-bration.
All the circular shapes are popped up on dimensionals.
