Keeping Cool in Summer

This is my second post today! If you missed the first post, you can see it here.

This card was made for Global Design Project Challenge #045!

I know it is summer and it is supposed to be hot… but the heat has been going above and beyond for the past week. When I made this card it was about 94 degrees outside with a humidity of 60%, which put our heat index at 110 degrees. Yikes!

I thought an ice cream cone card would be just perfect to help combat the heat, especially if I stayed in our nice cool basement while I made it.  I did have to substitute Tip Top Taupe for Smokey Slate in the challenge, because who would want to eat a gray ice cream cone?

The ice cream and cone were made using the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set. I stamped the top and bottom scoops onto Melon Mambo paper and used the Tree Builder Punch to punch out the shapes. The center scoop is white paper that I sponged lightly using Melon Mambo ink.

The polka dot papers are both designs from Pop of Pink Designer Series paper by Stampin’ Up!

I added Basic Black borders around the panels, which gives the card a Pop Art look, especially when combined with polka dots.

Stay cool everyone, and happy stamping!
