Foxy Florals for Irresistible Friends

For the Love of Irresistibly Floral Paper

I have been loving Irresistibly Floral Paper from Stampin’ Up! It is white with embossed white flowers on it. It’s incredibly easy to add a little ink with a sponge and get gorgeous colorful backgrounds. It’s the perfect paper, because it can can be any color and can coordinate with anything!

In today’s card, I combined this new favorite paper with one of my all time favorite stamp sets: Foxy Friends. In doing so, I also tried out a new technique!  Continue reading “Foxy Florals for Irresistible Friends”

Happy Spring

Happy Spring everyone! It was 75 degrees today and sunny with just a few puffy white clouds. It couldn’t have been a nicer spring day!

This card was inspired by nice weather and the current Global Design Project theme.

For this card I used a stamp set from Papertrey called Spring Borders. The adorable little bunnies come all in a row, but I cut them all apart so they could each be on their own little circle. The stamp set also comes with a line of grass, which I layered on the bottom of the circle to make lots of grass (in Wild Wasabi). I drew in little flower fluffs with Stampin’ Write markers (Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry).

The rabbits are colored with a  variety of the neutral colored Stampin’ Write markers… I no longer remember which ones, I’m afraid. I used all of them, then picked out the bunnies I liked best.

This was a surprisingly fussy little card. There are tiny dimensionals behind the rabbits, lots of coloring with very fine tipped markers, and then the circles have to be placed so precisely!

In the end I’m very pleased with it.

Even photographing this card was fussy. I couldn’t get the lighting right, and then things looked blurry or too washed out. Never fear, though, my helpful photography assistant and got everything straightened out.

Jelly Bean Builders

The Balloon Builders set from Stampin’ Up is a lot of fun. There are countless kinds of balloon animals to build and the regular shaped balloons coordinate with the Balloon Bouquet punch. Additionally there is a hidden Easter Bonus, that I first discovered being used by Carolina Evans. One of the balloon shapes makes PERFECT jelly beans! Jelly beans are perfect for Easter, birthdays, or any festive occasion card. Thanks for the idea!

I am still amazed by the details you get when you stamp these images. They have shading to them, they are shiny… and you get all that from little pixel stamp dots! I’m still surprised that the ink doesn’t clog up all those fine details, but they come out perfect every time!

This card is quick and easy and FUN to make, and would be perfect if you needed to make a whole bunch of cards all the same: Make it for a swap, send it out to all the relatives on Easter, or make party invitations!
