Falling Flowers on Fancy Frost

Falling Flowers Stamps on Fancy Frost Designer Series Paper

I had no idea what I was going to make when I started this card. Sometimes creating without a plan can be exhilarating and freeing. I knew I wanted to create something with Falling Flowers, but I didn’t know what, so I made pieces: lots and lots of pieces. I stamped and die cut ten different colors of flowers and leaves, and only then started to think about what I was going to do with them all.

Irresistibly Floral Blended Background

This card may look fancy and difficult to create, but it is actually really simple. Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper makes creating an embossed and blended background take only a few minutes most of which is trying to decide which colors to use!  Continue reading “Irresistibly Floral Blended Background”

Silver Lining

Hello and happy weekend everyone! I’m off on a Live Action Role Play adventure on Saturday (that’s like a Renaissance Festival combined with Dungeons and Dragons) but before I go I wanted to share this card with you!

This card was inspired by two different challenges. The first is CASology Challenge #210!

Caseology Week 209 - Watercolor

The second is Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #60!

I like this “L” shaped layout a lot. It makes for nice, easy, “Clean and Simple” style cards.

I used my Swirly Scribbles thinlit dies from Stampin’ Up! to cut both the swirl and the flower. The flower is a light purple paper somewhere between Sweet Sugarplum from Stampin’ Up! and the Passion Flower recommended by the challenge. I added a little Rich Razzleberry shadow to the edges with sponging.

The grey polka dot paper is A Little Foxy designer series paper from Stampin’ Up! There are so many cute designs in that paper stack! I love the gray ones especially, because they are so versatile!

With a sentiment like this one, you have to have a little sparkle on your card! I added a rhinestone to the flower and used a strip of polka dot silver washi tape. I found this washi tape at Michaels and have been wanting to use it; finally I had the perfect excuse!

Now I’m off to pack my bag: robe, magic wand, spell book… check, check, and check!

Thanks for visiting and happy stamping!

This card corresponds with two challenges. The first is What Will You Stamp Challenge #75!

The Second is Can You Case It Challenge #131!

When I first sat down to make this card I was feeling really uninspired. It had been a long day, we finally got our son to sleep, and we had about an hour before bed. I also hadn’t been sleeping well. I was tired, too tired even for stamping, or so I thought. My husband gave me a look and said, “You were going to make cards tonight. You would probably sleep better if you made something.”

So I went down to my office and whipped something up. Once I got working, everything came together easily. And you know what? I slept like a log afterwards.

I combined soft yellows with bold blacks in my designer series papers from Stampin’ Up! The Daffodil Delight polka dots are from the Fruit Stand collection and the black zigzags are from the Pop of Pink collection.

The little skunk is, of course, built using the Fox Builder Punch and the Foxy Friends stamps set, both from Stampin’ Up! For the most part, my little skunk isn’t very different from the standard way many people have been creating skunks with this punch set… until you get to his tail. For my tail, I actually punched 3 tail shapes, two in black and one in white. I layered all three together, adhered them together, and trimmed the tip a bit so it was a little pointier. The result is a little wider tail with a little thinner white stripe.

For a card I didn’t feel like making at first, this turned out pretty stinkin’ cute! My husband deserves at least half the credit for this card’s existence. It’s amazing to have such a supportive person in my life. Thanks, hubby!

Thank you readers, as well, for stopping by, reading my story and admiring my card! Happy stamping!

This card was inspired by Global Design Project challenge #039!

This challenge comes at the perfect time; my mom is going to be having surgery in two weeks. It’s not an emergency, but is still pretty major. Along with a card, I’m planning lots of meals and pampering.

The layout for this card is based on two equal sized panels set at angles. I added washi tape at the top to make it look like the panels are attached with tape, though they actually have snail adhesive holding them to the card as well.

The back panel is Wildflower Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up and uses one of my favorite color combinations! The front panel is stamped with Botanical Blooms stamps and accented with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
