Ombre Backgrounds with Playful Pals
Ombré is French for “to shade”, or gradually move from one color to another. The cardmaking community has really taking a liking to this term, though for the most part the accent on the E seems to have fallen off in English. It can also be called a gradient or a blended effect. Whatever you choose to call the effect, it’s a lot of fun to make cards with ombre backgrounds!

Vintage Leaves with Sparkle
I was not sure about these colors at first, because my brain jumped immediately to pumpkins and I don’t have any pumpkin stamps. The more I played with the colors and different papers, the more I saw that it didn’t have to be just for pumpkins; with a little sparkle added for the Bring on the Bling challenge, this makes an excellent Autumn color scheme!

Fruit and Glimmer
With a challenge calling for bling and Halloween just a few days away, I have been dying to use Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper. I thought it would be fun to pair it up with Blushing Bride glitter ribbon. Double glimmer, double the fun!

Monarch Butterflies for the Day of the Dead
This card honors some of the more traditional, but perhaps less well known aspects of the Day of the Dead (a celebration that coincides with Halloween). At this time of year, monarch butterflies start to arrive in Mexico at the end of their annual migration. Traditionally, these butterflies are believed to either be carrying the spirits of dead ancestors making their annual visit home.

Petals and Paisleys Double Z Fold Card
I have been challenging myself to create more cards that break the mold of the “usual” card. This time I’m trying a square card shape with a double Z fold in it. There is a high return on investment with this type of card. It looks very fancy, but isn’t as difficult to make as you would expect.
