2017-2018 In Color Inspiration

2017-2018 In Color Inspiration

Exciting news for color enthusiasts! Stampin’ Up! has released three of the five new In Colors! Even more exciting, these colors can be yours in May! Yup, that’s one month before the new annual catalog will be released!

Stampin’ Up! is releasing the new In Colors as part of a early release suite of products called “Eastern Palace” that will be available for anyone to order 1 month early.

Yippee!

I cannot wait to get started working with the new 2017-2018 In Colors. I’ve preordered them, but they haven’t arrived yet. So while I wait for my friendly neighborhood UPS delivery person, I got started playing with the colors in a digital format.

Color Inspiration in Nature

Colors are all around us and with modern technology, we can capture the most beautiful of colors in nature and take them home with us. Then, we can turn them into cards. …Isn’t that what everyone does?

Anyway, I found some gorgeous photos that feature the new In Colors and used them to build some color combinations that would make beautiful cards.

In Color #1: Fresh Fig

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Elegant Eggplant, Fresh Fig, Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo

I am a big fan of this new purple! It’s so rich and is just the perfect balance: not too blue, not too pink, not too dark, not too light. I have a feeling I’m going to using this color a lot!

In Color #2: Tranquil Tide

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Perfect Plum, Tranquil Tide, Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette

Teal by any other name is, for me, just as sweet! This is a little lighter than Island Indigo and a little less bright than Bermuda Bay. It goes really well with the whole Subtle family of colors. I think it would be impossible for me not to like this color; it’s in the teal family after all.

In Color #3: Lemon Lime Twist

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Pear Pizzazz, Lemon Lime Twist, Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango

I think this is the color I am the most excited about (even more than Tranquil Tide) because it is so different than any other color in the Stampin’ Up! color families. This is the one color that I was wishing for months before Stampin’ Up! announced what the new colors would be. I just can’t wait to to start using this one!

A Hint of the East

Finally, here are all three colors together. This gives you an idea of what these colors will look like in the Eastern Palace Suite when they are all combined.

And now excuse me while I go wait by the window for the UPS delivery person.

  1. Natalie, I absolutely LOVE your instructions you develop for all your cards. I am looking at your galleries looking for this style card. I was hoping I can send a picture but it seems I can’t. I will describe it as best I can. It is a slider card that slides upward to reveal a message. Do you have instructions for this style card? Thanks for your help.

  2. Fabulous work with the new colours and it’s also good to see the copyright reminder – it appeals to my inner librarian. 🙂
